Write for The Cloister

 

The Cloister is always looking for new writers, perspectives, and ideas.

 

We welcome contributions from students at the University of Glasgow across all levels of experience. Whether you are an experienced writer or submitting for the first time, we are interested in original, thoughtful work that engages with student life, current affairs, culture, and wider issues.

 

We publish a range of content,

including:

• News reporting

• Opinion and commentary

• Cultural analysis

• Essays and long-form writing

 

We are particularly interested in well-argued opinions and original reporting that contribute meaningfully to discussion within the university community.

 

In addition to student submissions, The Cloister also accepts a limited number of pitches from outside the university. External contributions are considered where they offer clear relevance to the student experience or provide valuable expertise and perspective.

All submissions are subject to editorial review. We aim to maintain a high standard of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in everything we publish.
